To ensure that Rules of Origin is adhered to, a Certificate of Origin is normally used to certify the origin of the goods.

What is Certificate of Origin?

Certificat of Origin (C/O) is a document that certifies the country of origin of a particular product.  The C/O is intended solely to provide the origin of goods in order to satisfy customs or trade requirements such as supporting letter of credit.

MTMA is authorised by Ministry of International Trade and Industry to issue and endorse Certificate of Origin since January 1982.

MTMA will endorsed Certificate of Origin (for Textile and Apparel Products) except to the following countries:

• EU Countries
• Canada
• Turkey &
• Israel

Companies require to obtain the Certificate of Origin / Permit from MITI Malaysia for shipment to the above mentioned countries.
